What did the learner
understand?
Reading assessment checks responses against the test’s answer key. The report makes those decisions visible, question by question.
What is assessed
Understanding the text.
Tasks can ask learners to find detail, identify a main idea, follow an argument or distinguish what a passage does and does not say. The shared Comprehension domain includes main idea, inference, specific detail and vocabulary in context.
A question-type label is a broad teaching aid. It is not, on its own, a precise measurement of an underlying skill.
The marking rule
Answers, then arithmetic.

| Standard Reading | Answers are checked against the prepared key. Correct responses are counted and projected onto the selected scale. |
| IELTS Reading | Responses are matched to the correct answer or an accepted-answer list. This is deterministic marking. |
The Flow / Lexical / Accuracy / Structure / Mission rubric belongs to writing. Reading uses answer-key marking. The scale ledger records Standard Reading /100, while the older domain guide describes the /50 configuration; the assignment’s configured scale determines the display.

Show what happened
to each answer.
- The learner’s answer and the correct answer.
- The stored correctness decision, plus a distinct unanswered label.
- The question’s explanation, when supplied at authoring time.
- A breakdown by question type and a broad description of the skill involved.
The report reads the stored marking decision. It does not ask a model to grade the answers again when the report opens.
